Sailfish Band

ENSEMBLES

Students in this ensemble are typically within their first or second year of band.

Wahoo Band

Students in this ensemble are typically in their third or fourth year of band.

CHAMBER GROUPS

Students will have the opportunity to perform in a small ensemble group with other camp members who play their instrument!

ELECTIVE CLASSES

Students will have the opportunity to expand their musicianship in elective classes throughout the week. Each student will attend each course twice.

CONDUCTING

Students will learn the basics of how to conduct in various time signatures and communicate through gesture. This course will help provide necessary skills to those interested in auditioning for Drum Major!

MUSIC THEORY

This class introduces students to the fundamentals of reading and writing music, including key signatures, scales, chords, and rhythms. It helps musicians deepen their understanding of how music works to improve their performance and ensemble skills.

PRACTICE PREP

We know that “practice makes progress”, but sometimes we may not know where to start. This course will cover valuable tips to help students maximize practice time. It will also touch upon taking advantage of opportunities like All-County and All-State!

LISTENING

Students will be exposed to professional musical performances by guest artists. They will be introduced to new styles and genres of music that will serve to inspire them and expand their knowledge.
